General Dentistry

Your best dental investment is to have a conscientious, thorough examination and diagnosis. Otherwise, we would be trying to guess your dental needs without having all obtainable information, and that would be doing you a disservice.

The examination includes a number of services, among which are listed below.

- Oral cancer and periodontal disease screening. - Evaluation of facial muscles, all soft tissues of mouth, bones and jaws.
- Thorough assessment of the teeth themselves, tightness of teeth, the way they bite together and their position in the dental arch.
- Evaluation of general health, home care techniques, oral habits and probable cause of disease.
- Complete x-rays.
- Other services would depend on your needs.
- If your dental needs are not major, they can be discussed at the end of the initial visit. If it appears your problems are more involved, we may need time to evaluate our findings and have you return for a consultation appointment. There is no additional charge for this consultation appointment.

Once a treatment plan has been recommended by us and accepted by you, financial arrangements can be made and a sequence of appointments will be scheduled by our staff.

Air Abrasion

No More Drilling! Most people fear the dentist until they experience the gentle process of Air Abrasion. This technology takes the emphasis off pain and fear and moves it to conservative, healthy, esthetic dental care.

Q. What is Air Abrasion?
A. Air Abrasion is a gentle spray of an air & powder mix that removes tooth decay.

Q. Does Air Abrasion hurt?
A. Almost never! By controlling the speed and intensity of both the powder and the air, the procedure is virtually painless. In most cases a shot is not necessary, so you will not have numb or drooping lips after your procedure.

Q. What should I know about early detection and treatment?
A. At the slightest hint of tooth decay, a "caries detection dye" is put on the suspicious tooth. The colored liquid helps identify the position and extent of decay, even that not visible to the naked eye. The problem can then be taken care of, usually in less than 10 minutes.

Q. Can my tooth decay be treated immediately?
A. Immediately and minimally. Early detection means early treatment. We are talking about tooth decay here, tooth rot! Why wait for it to spread and get bigger? You can get it taken care of before you leave the office.

Q. Why is Air Abrasion better than the old drill?
A. The air abrasion device that is used instead of the old drill is new technology. It's technology that eliminates the odors, noise, vibration, micro cracks and, in most cases, the shot associated with the drill.

Q. Once Air Abrasion removes the decay, how is the cavity filled?
A. This is the beautiful part. the cavity is filled with a nearly invisible, non-mercury filling, making the entire tooth strong, long lasting and resistant to decay.

Q. Is the finish attractive?
A. Definitely! It looks like a brand new tooth.

Q. Can children benefit from Air Abrasion?
A. Absolutely! Air Abrasion is perfect for children. Cavities are detected and treated early. Most children are not even aware of what is happening.

Q. What other procedures is Air Abrasion good for?
A. Besides removing decay, Air Abrasion works well in repairing chipped, fractured or worn teeth, preparing for cosmetic surgery, removing stains or spots, repairing old fillings and sealants and repairing broken crowns and bridges.

Zoom Whitening

Your smile is important. It's one of the first things you notice when you meet someone. A whiter, brighter smile is beautiful - it can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impression.

Your lifestyle and the aging process can stain and darken your teeth. Many things we do on a regular basis can contribute to stained teeth, such as drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine or smoking.

Whitening can get your smile looking its best. You should look for a whitening procedure that is:

Fast and convenient
Long lasting
Low sensitivity
Proven to be safe and effective
Performed by a Dental Professional

LUMINEERS can only be made from patented Cerinate porcelain unavailable anywhere other than the Cerinate Smile Design Studio. In just 2-3 visits to your LUMINEERS dentist, you can have a custom-made smile that is clinically proven to last over 20 years - and it is completely reversible since your natural tooth structure is still intact! Dental Implants

Dental Implants offer a permanent solution to missing teeth. For over 30 years, dental implants have brought naturally beautiful, confident smiles to patients. A dental implant is a small titanium screw or cylinder which is surgically placed in the upper or lower jawbone. The implant replaces the root of the missing tooth, providing an anchor for your new tooth/teeth. Many patients choose dental implants over other procedures, because the result is a natural appearance which is permanent.

Single Tooth Replacement

Because dental implants replace the tooth root and serve as an anchor, your new tooth/teeth are secured directly on the implant. This treatment allows teeth to be restored naturally, without harming or involving surrounding teeth.

Small metal posts are connected to the implant, allowing the replacement tooth to be permanently secured with dental cement or a small screw.

Implant Supported Dentures

Dental implants can also be placed to permanently anchor and support partial or full dentures, eliminating the need for dental adhesives. Enjoy having the confidence to eat the foods you previously avoided.

Dentures can be supported with either a bar/clip or ball/socket attachment for removal, allowing for regular cleaning.

Crowns and Bridges

Restore your natural smile with All-Ceramics.

Since the early 1970's, all ceramic crowns and veneers have given thousands of people superior cosmetic results they desire. Because all-ceramic restorations contain no metal understructure, they are able to transmit the color of adjacent teeth and tooth structure. This enables them to blend more completely with surrounding natural teeth.

In addition to their chameleon-like quality of disappearing in the mouth, these restorations have become stronger than ever. With product research and development and state-of-the-art cementation and bonding techniques, modern all-ceramic systems rival traditional restorations for their use in anterior bridgework.

NightGuards

Does your jaw feel stiff or do you have difficulty opening your mouth wide? Are your teeth sensitive to cold drinks? Do your jaw muscles feel tired in the morning? You may be grinding your teeth at night (a medical condition called bruxism) or you may be clenching your teeth, which can be just as harmful. People with nighttime grinding habits may wear away their tooth enamel “ten times faster” than those without “abusive chewing habits.” Eventually, your teeth may be worn down and destroyed.

In addition to relieving head, neck, jaw joint and shoulder pains, treating bruxism and clenching is cost effective compared to ignoring the condition and exposing teeth to continued grinding. Without treatment, crowns (caps), bridges, implants and dentures are often needed to repair or replace worn and damaged teeth. Ask your dentist if a nightguard can help to provide temporary relief from grinding, bruxing or clenching.
